Visit to Hardwick Country Park

Visit to Hardwick Country Park

Reception Class thoroughly enjoyed their visit to Hardwick Country Park. They explored the park and looked for sculptures. They saw lots of different types of birds including swans, geese and coots. They had fun in the playground before doing the Dinosaur Discovery trail. The children were good a finding the dinosaurs and naming them. They learnt how big a triceratops’s foot was. They stomped through the woods like a stegosaurus and looked for plants that a stegosaurus would eat. The highlight of the day was pretending to be palaeontologists and digging for fossils and bones in the soil. The children finished the day by making their own fossils from clay.
