Vision
Our vision is to ensure that every child is guided and encouraged to become an independent learner, fulfilling their potential in all areas of their learning, by providing a broad, well-balanced and creative education.
At Wolsingham Primary School, children are at the centre of everything we do. Staff and governors are committed to providing the very best education for every child in a caring and supportive learning environment where everyone feels happy and secure.
We recognise that everyone has an important part to play in children’s development whatever the size of their contribution. As such we work in close partnership with parents and other professionals at all times.
We believe that children should be well prepared for a successful future and leave the school as caring, respectful, responsible and tolerant citizens.
Values
The children, staff and governors have agreed a set of core values which we encourage to be part of all that we do:
Respect
Friendship
Determination
Equality
Excellence
Courage
Aspiration
They are displayed prominently in school and form part of weekly assemblies to embed the values in school life. These values are prevalent in all that we do and are shown in the actions of children and staff alike. We encourage the entire school community to bring these values to life.
Ethos
While academic progress is valued at Wolsingham Primary, we believe that children should also be happy, confident, independent individuals who make a positive contribution to their local, national and global community. We support and teach the British Values which contribute to the promotion of a friendly, productive, respectful atmosphere in the school where children and staff can be seen working together to achieve our goal in a positive, inclusive environment.
We want to inspire a natural curiosity and believe that children learn most effectively when they are interested in and excited about their learning and our curriculum has been carefully planned to ensure knowledge and skills build progressively.
