To help us revise the Year 1 Common Exception Words and start to learn the Year 2 words, we played a game of Smiley Face Hangman. Every time an incorrect letter was guessed, their partner would draw one of the 8 steps of a smiley face. It was a race to see if they could get the correct spelling before the face was drawn! It was lovely to hear the children recognise spelling patterns such as split digraphs as they tried to guess the word!
