Part 1
When I first started cheer, it was 2021 so I have been doing it for 5 and a half years. This season I’m on four teams and the teams are called Mini Mafia (which is a Level 1 under 10 prep team), Riot Girls (which is a Level 1 Under 12 prep team), Claw (which is a Level 1 Under 12 International team) and Steel Prinnies (which is a Level 2 Under 14 International team).
On the 7th of December 2025, it was Derwent Valley Allstars first Showcase where all the teams go and show their routine to all of our parents.
On the 17th of January 2026, I went to Glasgow to compete. I competed in two teams and in both teams I came 1st. On the 24th and the 25th of January 2026, I went to Birmingham to compete for one team. On the Saturday, we came 1st and the team who came first in Blackpool and got a bid to Florida were devastated when they came 2nd as they were a really good standard! On the Sunday, we went for money to help support our teams but we came 4th out of a lot of really good teams.
On the 14th and 15th of February 2026, I went to Telford to compete for one of my teams. We competed on the Saturday and Sunday. On the Saturday, we achieved 2nd place by only 0.2 and we did really well but we didn’t have awards on the Saturday. At training we worked on the formations and positions so my friend and I could manage to do our forward walkover. On the Sunday, we competed and we did really, really well and we did have awards on that day and we came second by 0.1. The team that won was extremely good.
In April, we are going to Florida to compete. We are leaving for Florida on the 18th of April 2026 and we have been working so hard and I think it will be really, really, really fun. On the 7th and 8th of March, I am going to Blackpool to compete again for like the tenth time. On Monday 16th February 2026, we went to cheer to see if we got a paid bid or a bid to Florida next year. We found out that we got a paid bid towards Florida so we get £300 each so we get £5,700 pound altogether and all that money goes towards Florida!
Part 2
On the 7th and 8th of March, I went to Blackpool to compete for Cheer and I watched the older teams (Phantom, Icons and Steel Queens). It was a two day competition (that means you competed on the Saturday and Sunday) and we were in a division of 6. After we competed on the Saturday, we were in 3rd place. Our overall place was 2nd. The coaches from the team that came first have since been to help us with our technique to make us even stronger.
On the 28th of March, I went to Newcastle to compete for two teams and my sister competed for her team (Boss Babies) which was exciting as it was her first time competing! The teams I competed for were called Mafia Queens (my first time competing in that team) and Riot Girls. In Mafia Queens, I came second by 0.22 or 0.33 and in Riot Girls, came first with a deduction. My sister got an excellent award in her team.
We are very excited to go to Florida and I think we will have a very good time. We leave on the 18th April and we have been set in our groups for team challenge. The groups are for team challenges so as soon as we get to the airport it start! I think it will be very fun and I think we will have a good time. I really hope we will do very well at the competition. The first day is the semi-finals and only the top 20 out of 64 competing will go to the finals. There would usually only be about 5 to 10 teams in a division! We will be competing against teams from all over the world.
