Pancake Day

Reception Class made pancakes for snack on Shrove Tuesday. They mixed together flour, eggs and milk to make the batter. Then Mrs Rogers cooked the pancakes in the frying pan. The children chose what they wanted on top of their pancakes. The pancakes were delicious!

We talked about why people make pancakes on Shrove Tuesday and how it marks the start of Lent for Christians. We discussed how people often give up something they like or enjoy for Lent and then the children all identified something that they could give up for Lent.
