Have a look at what we’ve been learning…
Fitness on the Field
The Reception children have had an active morning learning many tricks using hula-hoops.
Queen’s Jubilee
Reception have had a very interesting week celebrating the Queen’s jubilee. We began the week by receiving an email from the Queen herself! She asked us to plan a party, so we did. The children have enjoyed making, flags, bunting, and cakes and have created some wonderful artwork. Well done, Reception.
Pancake Day
The children have thoroughly enjoyed Pancake Day. We read the story of “Mr Wolf’s Pancakes” and then happily made our own to taste.
Red Nose Day 2022
We all had a fabulous time on Comic Relief this year dressed as our superheroes. We thoroughly enjoyed all the games that the School Council ran in the hall in the afternoon too!
World Book Day
It has been lovely to celebrate World Book Day this year. A huge thank you to all those costumes that have been made and the effort that the parents and children have gone to to create their outfits!
Pancake Day
The children have thoroughly enjoyed Pancake Day. We read the story of “Mr Wolf’s Pancakes” and then happily made our own to taste.
Story Telling
The children have enjoyed making their own props to retell the story of Elmer.
Nativity Time!
This year’s Christmas nativity was called ‘Shine Star, Shine.’ The children did a fantastic job of learning all of the songs and their words.
Colour Mixing
The children enjoyed using powder paints to mix outdoors. The children realised that they could mix the colours to make a new colour. “Look at the rainbow river.” – Sophie
Adam Bushnell Story Writing
Today, we had a special visitor come to school. Adam Bushnell, the storyteller, came to teach us how to be authors. We thoroughly enjoyed creating our own stories and drawing the pictures.
Weardale Adventure Centre
The Reception children thoroughly enjoyed their first school trip. We visited Weardale Adventure Centre where we made bug hotels.
Welcome to our new Reception children
