A Visit from Adam Bushnell

A Visit from Adam Bushnell

We were very excited to welcome the brilliant author Adam Bushnell into our class this morning to inspire our writing. With his treasure chest full of exciting artefacts and pirate flags, Adam took us into a world of adventure and imagination!

We started our morning by designing our very own pirate flags, thinking carefully about what symbols and colours would represent our fearsome characters. Using Adam’s collection of real-life artefacts as inspiration, we then created our own unique pirates – each with their own personality and set of weapons. Next, we set sail on a creative adventure, drawing detailed treasure maps filled with the exciting places our pirates would visit. We imagined jungles, volcanoes, secret coves and even magical islands. To finish, we invented special treasures and thought carefully about what sort of creature might guard our chest from dragons to giant octopuses!

We had a fantastic morning full of fun, imagination and brilliant ideas. We can’t wait to use all of our pirate planning to write our stories next week!
