VE Day

Reception Class had great fun joining in with the VE day celebrations this week. They wore red, white and blue clothes and enjoyed a picnic lunch on the field with the rest of the school. They learnt how VE day marked the end of World War 2 and talked about why we remember and celebrate this date. One child brought medals, photographs and a pocket watch that belonged to her great-grandparents. The children enjoyed looking at them. They made paper chain decorations for the classroom and competed to see who could make the longest one.
